Last week, we gave children in Years 5 and 6 the challenge of researching the water cycle and then, using their new knowledge, writing an explanation text. There have been some fantastic efforts and we felt they needed to be shared!
The first step towards to creating a great explanation text was research. Mrs Manston showed the children how to organise their research and then we received some excellent examples.
Next, the children were asked to draw the diagrams to go with their explanation in four clear sections to represent the four stages of the cycle. They thought carefully about labels to help make the diagrams clear to the reader.
Finally, using careful technical language and causal connectives, the children wrote some fantastic explanation texts! Well done Year 5 and 6. Here are some of your lovely efforts!
