Awesome Africa at Winton Primary School

Year 2’s trust day this year was spent at Winton Primary School. We had a fun packed day filled with African drumming, necklace making, Savannah sketching and dancing. It was great to share this experience with Winton who were also learning all about Africa this term.

We learnt all about African drumming and all had the opportunity to practise playing African rhythms on the drums. Some of us got to share our drumming with the rest of Year 2 from both Kingsleigh and Winton Primary School.

We also made some beautiful silhouette sketches of African animals in the African Savannah. We are very proud of our artwork!

African necklace making was super fun too. We used a variety of art materials to create our very own African inspired necklaces. Here are a few of them.

We had so much fun learning African dances – especially when we all got to perform the dance we had learnt during the end of the day assembly at Winton Primary School.

Our Kingsleigh children really enjoyed this collaborative trust day, they had a great time and made some new friends along the way!
