This term, children in Years 3 to 6 have had the chance to come to board game club on a Wednesday after school. During the first week we spent some time learning new games so this did take a bit of patience.
In the following weeks, we then had “experts” in all the different games. This meant that children could teach each other some of the different games that were on offer.
Amongst our favourite games were, Rummikub, Yahtzee and Dobble. The children were really quick to pick up the rules and lots of them loved the games so much they started making them at home. We were really pleased to see so many children getting so much pleasure out of board games and they are a great way to develop strategic thinking and sequencing.
We look forward to introducing other new games over the coming weeks!
