Year 3 have been learning all about the RNLI this term, so we thought it would be fun to make some boats out of different materials and see if they would float.
This week we followed instructions to fold a sheet of A4 paper to make a simple boat. It was quite tricky, but by the end of the lesson everyone had a boat to test. We discovered that most boats floated well, although the paper became very soggy!
We thought about stronger materials we could use and other ways to improve our boats to make them waterproof. We are looking forward to our next Design and Technology lesson to try some of them out!
