This week year one have been learning all about how to be bossy in our writing. We learnt about command words which tell you to do something. To help us we made a word bank that we used all week in our Literacy lessons.
Then, we ordered jumbled sentences and focussed on identifying the command words. We noticed that most of the time the command word was at the start.
Once we knew this, we were ready to write our own command sentences so we used our word bank that we made earlier in the week and set about constructing sentences.
Finally, we were ready to go it alone so we wrote a set of instructions about how to care for a pet for our rainbow write.
What an amazing week of literary! Hopefully the children haven’t learnt to be too bossy at home.
