Cute chicks!

Year 1 have had the privilege of hatching baby chicks in our school over the past few weeks. They arrived as eggs but have now grown into cute, fluffy chicks. We have been learning about birds in our science lessons and used the chicks to look for features of birds and begin to understand lifecycles too.

The children’s favourite part of the whole experience was when they have had the opportunity to hold the chicks! Holding a cute, fluffy chick (that sometimes even poops in your hand) is an experience that we hope the children will never forget.

The chicks have provided lots of entertainment to all the children and staff across the school with multiple visits from everyone to have a cuddle.

We are already looking forward to our next egg hatching experience next year. Rumour has it that ducks might be making an appearance too…
