Kingsleigh excel in Bournemouth Town Sports

For the first time in over two years Kingsleigh were able to compete in the Bournemouth Schools Town sports competition. This event involved over 500 children across 20 Bournemouth schools in Years 4-6 taking part in 6 different athletics events to see which child is the best in Bournemouth in their age group and event.

Every single one of our athletes was incredible in their events and we could not have been any more proud of their efforts, attitude, behaviour or Astro Aspiration. Some of our children achieved outstanding results including;

  • 11 children coming in the top 10 in Bournemouth for their individual events

These children came in the top 3 in Bournemouth for their individual events

  • Aziza joint 3rd (long jump)
  • Luiz  2nd (long jump)
  • Jenson 3rd (cricket ball throw)
  • Ari-Ella 3rd (rounders ball throw)

Last, but certainly not least, one child within our squad went above and beyond and managed to secure a joint 1st finish in her event, the joint best Y5 girl high jumper in Bournemouth Beth!

Beth deserves a very special mention, not only has she done unbelievably well in her event and made the school extremely proud, Beth will be the first to tell you that high jump is not her strongest event. However, she decided to take on the challenge of competing in the high jump event and ended up winning joint 1st as she was one of only three girls that could do the highest jump.

Beth should be seen as an amazing role model to children of all ages at KPS. She has shown that even though we may not always like to try new challenges and that we may be scared of failure, we should always show Astro Aspiration and try our hardest and be the best we can be no matter what the obstacle!
