In Reception this week we have been reading the book ‘Paper Dolls’ by Julia Donaldson as part of our Understanding of the World topic. The children have been using their cutting skills to cut and design their own paper dolls.
In Maths, we have been sorting objects into different ways. The children could sort using colour and sizes.
We have been going on a Numicon Hunt to find the matching Numicon shape and pairing up matching socks.
We have been practising our fine motor skills by tracing shapes in the foam. We have been really good at writing our names this week.
In History we have been learning about old and new. We have been exploring old and new toys, clothing, technology, cars and school life.
We had some great discussions about how things have changed and how they are similar.
We enjoyed dancing to old music in PE.
We had lots of fun exploring the old toys. Do you still have any old toys at home? Maybe you could share your old games and toys with your child?
