This week in Year 4 we celebrated Safer Internet Day in our classes. We looked at different symbols of online gaming sites and social media to see which we recognised and what the age limit is for the most popular games. We thought carefully about why they have restrictions and specific risks that people might face when they are online. All of the children were so sensible and had really fantastic ideas on how best to protect ourselves, our friends and our families whilst online.
We listened to different scenarios and tried our best to imagine what we would do in certain situations, what action we would take if those things happened to us and how we could prevent them.
The children worked in pairs to create posters that promoted kindness online. Some children made them digitally on the iPad or laptop and some children created them on paper. We tried to include the key advice we could give people to stay safe and how people can avoid unhealthy relationships online.
