Transition day for the new Year 6 children!

It was a big day for the Year 5 children, as they had their first taste of life in Year 6! After a brief assembly, they made their way up to their new classes, to meet their new teachers and mix with their new friends.

Our focus was to produce a really interesting piece of art work, which could form a display before the children even arrive in September. We drew inspiration from Mondrian and Kandinsky, two famous European artists, and using a mixture of paint and pastels, the children created their masterpieces!

The only objective was that they must include a symbol or Kingsleigh- something that reminded them of our school. For some, it was a drawing of one of the values, for others it was a maths sign or the Kingsleigh emblem.

We were really pleased with how they settled, and we hope they have a better idea of what is coming their way in September. Well done Year 5!
