Whatever Next

We have been really enjoying our topic, ‘Blast Off’ since starting our Year One journey. We have been learning facts about space and have been creating our own information books. Maybe the children could tell you something about their favourite planet?

This week, we arrived at school to find a cardboard box, a colander and some welly boots had been left on our carpet. We wondered what they could be for…

We later found out these were objects from the story, ‘Whatever Next’ about a bear who wants to go to the moon. We had fun acting out the story. Some of us pretended to be baby bear, flying to the moon in our cardboard rockets!

We thought of things we would pack in our rockets if we were going to the moon and wrote our ideas for our English lesson.

Now, we are learning ‘Whatever Next’ as our new text map. We were set the challenge to order the text map after somebody had cut it and mixed it around.

We we will soon be editing this story to create our own versions. Watch this space…
