For the Summer Term, the Kingsleigh teachers have set daily English challenges for our Kingsleigh pupils. These can be found on the Kingsleigh YouTube channel, and in the year group page on the school’s website. The Year 1 children have been completing writing challenges linked to the book, “The Disgusting Sandwich,” by Gareth Edwards.
On Monday, Mrs Rendell set the challenge of completing a prediction for what happens next in the story, having read part of it. The children in Year 1 came up with some excellent prediction ideas.
For their Tuesday work, the children were set the challenge of writing an invitation to Badger to come to their house for tea (Badger is the main character in the story). We really enjoyed reading their lovely invitations! It made us wish that we could come to tea!

For our final challenge on Friday, Mrs Stacey asked Year 1 to write a book review for The Disgusting Sandwich. The children clearly enjoyed the story. It can read about it in these lovely reviews that we received.
