On Monday the sun was shining so the Year 1’s took a stroll to the ‘deep dark woods’ (better known as Kinson Common!) Even Mr Evans decided to join us, although he did have to jog to keep up!
We had the challenge of finding evidence to prove that Autumn was indeed here. We loved spotting all of the different colours of the trees and found out about the difference between deciduous and evergreen.
We collected lots of autumnal ‘treasure’ so that we could make some art using the leaves.
Ava even made her own nature trail eye-spy card to bring with her!
We didn’t manage to spot all of the things on the list but we did find something a little unusual! Waiting for us on a bench, was a witch’s hat and a cat bowl! We decided Winnie the Witch and her cat Wilbur must have come to the woods with us too!
We can’t wait to go back and see how the common looks when we are in a different season!
