Year 2 went to the library to celebrate the end of our topic, ‘The Great Fire of London.’ It was really exciting because all our work is on exhibit at the library.
The exhibit was also there all through the half term holiday so hopefully lots of you saw it!
We walked to the library, it was cold but luckily it was sunny and not raining. When we got to the library the librarian read us a story and told us how easy it is to visit the library.
You can get a library card for free and borrow up to 12 books at a time and keep them at home for three weeks. There are lots of really interesting books at the library and a great area full of fiction and non fiction children’s books.
After the story we had some time to look through all the books that are on offer to read. Everyone was really shocked at how many books there were and are looking forward to being able to visit the library more often.
Finally we went outside the library to look through the window. Our exhibition of work is in one of the window displays so anyone walking past will be able to see all of our 17th century houses and diary entries.
It was a real accomplishment for everyone to see their work being displayed somewhere in the local community.
I am really proud of all of Year 2’s hard work and thank you parents for all your help making the wonderful houses for home learning.
We hope you enjoy it.
