This week the whole school celebrated Language Day. In Year 3, our focus country was Italy!
Our first activity was to learn all about Giuseppe Arcimboldo – an Italian painter who lived almost 500 years ago. He was famous for his paintings that involved fruit, vegetables and flowers. Each painting reflected the available flora and fauna for the season.
We had a go at making our own self portraits using fruits, vegetables and flowers.
After we finished out art, we then got to experience some Italian fine dining. We tried breadsticks, crostinis and mozzarella. Dessert was some chocolate wafers. Grazie!
