Every single Year 4 child has blown the adults away with their impeccable behaviour, fantastic attitudes and enthusiasm on our school trip. Each class took it in turns to visit Bournemouth. Our first stop was admiring the cool and creative street art in the lower gardens. The children loved thinking about how the artist was expressing themselves and the hidden messages behind the artwork. We took our time scanning the QR codes so that we could learn lots about who the artists were, what the inspiration was behind them and how the artwork was created.
In small groups, the children used iPads to capture the parts that they loved and filled our camera rolls with plenty of smiley selfies.
Next, we walked through the gardens and ended up at the beach. By Pier Approach, we stopped to look at some monochrome, sea-style street art and we thought carefully about the patterns and designs that we could use in our own art topic back at school.
Our final stop was a picnic on the beach which included exploring in the sand, digging gigantic holes, sculpting sea life animals and even some litter picking.
We were so proud of the way the children represented the school, their engagement with the artwork and their teamwork skills. Great job Year 4!
