Preschool Home Learning Grid 25.1.21
Home From Home Preschool Topic Letter
A learning video will be placed on the school YouTube channel daily.
The grid above reflects activities and play the children will be engaged in at Pre-School. We have included ideas linked to familiar times of the day for the children. Welcome Time always starts at 10am and during this time we talk about the day of the week, date, month and year. We also check the weather! The children learn songs and begin to count using different objects (and each other!) The children will also engage in Squiggle Time to support gross and fine motor skills.
At home, activities you can do to support these skills would be very helpful e.g. cutting, threading, mark making using crayons, chalks, paints. Story Time will also be familiar for the children, so try to do these daily. Each week we have a story we enjoy every day. At home, your child might have a favourite story which you can enjoy every day. Each day you can talk about different aspects of the book e.g. the pictures, the characters, the front cover and title. If you have the same story we are reading in Pre-School then please could you read that story every day. One of the most important skills to be supporting at home is communication. Allowing your child to talk, build their vocabulary, encouraging listening skills and ensuring they follow simple instructions is something that we do all day with the children!
All the ideas and activities will ensure the children are still developing key areas of the curriculum as well as giving them a sense of a typical Pre-School day.
Mr Wilson and Mr Bainton have also put together and grid of physical activities for you to do over the week. You can find them on the link below as well as a tracker to record all your efforts.
