Year 3 – Stingrays

Latest Updates

Weekly Information

This week in Year 3 we are learning to find equivalent fractions and fractions of amounts in Maths. In English, we will be writing instructions on how to make a Wattle and Daub fence. We will also be avidly preparing for our assembly on Friday 14th February!

General Information

Welcome back to everyone!

As we begin the Spring term, we want to give you a brief overview of the exciting learning that will be taking place this half term.

Our topic this half term is Early Man (see the newsletter below)

For this topic, the children will learn all about prehistoric Britain. As part of our topic, we will be visiting Butser Farm in Petersfield where the children will get to experience life in the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age; taking part in time period specific activities and visiting example homes. In Science, we will be learning about rocks and why sedimentary rock in particular is really important in archaeology.

Throughout the school year, we ask that your child reads every day (at least 5 times a week), practises their times tables and Times Tables Rock stars and learns their spellings. We hope you and your children are looking forward to another exciting half term. If you have any questions, concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to see your child’s class teacher.

Many thanks for your support
