Our class pages have been adapted to support you as much as possible at this time. The content for English and Maths will be updated daily and the grid below will be updated weekly with lessons to support the children with what they would be learning if they were in school.
Below is a link to the grid as a word document so that you can open it and click on the hyperlinks.
If your children are at home engaging in remote learning and well, below are details about the provision we have in place for home learning.
Reading: A reading video will be placed on the school YouTube channel daily. Children should engage in reading development for thirty minutes every day.
Children are also able to access reading books via Oxford Owl. Additional reading can include reading on their own, reading with an adult, listening to stories or discussing what they have read. Children should read a range of fiction and non-fiction.
English: A daily English video will be provided with follow up activities.
All children also have their targeted practice English books which they can complete tasks from during periods when they are working at home or if access to a computer is difficult.
Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar: They can access Espresso online and use a username and password to access all areas. https://www.discoveryeducation.co.uk/what-we-offer/discovery-education-espresso Username: student10836 Password: school
Maths: Each day the White Rose Maths Hub will be publishing daily videos and work sheets (with answers) which the school have paid for so that all parents can access them.
In class, we would often use practical materials to support the children’s learning. We know that lots of you have found creative ways to do this at home but if you do need some support the website below has lots of the materials that we use in class that might help.
Maths Resources to support Work
Year 3 Maths Tuesday Questions
The resources are excellent and we regularly use them in school so the children are very familiar with the content and style. The content will be the same as the content their peers are covering in class.
Mr Wilson and Mr Bainton have also put together and grid of physical activities for you to do over the week. You can find them on the link below as well as a tracker to record all your efforts.
Below is a suggested timetable of what your week might look like. This is not set in stone but is meant as a support for those that want to use it.
If you are struggling to keep up with this full routine the most important thing is to try and keep up with reading and maths. An hour of good quality maths and reading is better than five hours of wrestling with children to try and get through the whole timetable. Please focus on this as it is these skills that will really help the children keep pace with where they should be.

We are really keen to keep the communication between home and school as open as it can be. If your child does anything that they are really proud of please email it to their year group email e.g. year3@kingsleighprimary.co.uk
Thank you for your continued support as we strive to do the best that we can to support our children and community through this unprecedented time.
