This week in Year 3 we are going to have our Woodland Day on Monday! In English, the children will finish writing their own poems on the Magic Box and in Maths they will be using bar models to divide.
Welcome back to everyone!
As we begin our second part of Autumn term, we want to give you a brief overview of the exciting learning that will be taking place this half term.
Our topic this half term is Woodland Watch (see the newsletter below)
Year 3 will be beginning the term learning all about biographies. They will practice writing biographies about people they know and then have a chance to write one about Chris Packam – a very famous conservationist! Later we will be writing persuasive letters about our local environment.
Our scientific learning this half term will focus upon learning about animals, their habitats and diets. Our DT will give children the opportunity to sow their own puppets!
Throughout the school year, we ask that your child reads every day (at least 5 times a week), practises their times tables and Times Tables Rock stars and learns their spellings. We hope you and your children are looking forward to another exciting half term. If you have any questions, concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to see your child’s class teacher.
Many thanks for your support
