Year 4 – Turtles

Latest Updates

This week’s learning

Welcome to Year 4!  Our teaching team this year is Mrs Cutler, Miss Murgatroyd, Miss Reade and Mrs Watson. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Fernandez, Mrs Phillips and Miss Fish.  We are all looking forward to an exciting year together.

This year we have started with Alice in Wonderland as our topic. As part of this, we will explore the narrative, characters and places within the story. Our language this term is French with Mme Knowles.  Click on the link for our latest topic newsletter.

In English this week we will be writing the Mad Hatter’s biography.

In Maths this week we will be exploring different methods of subtraction and the use of the bar model.

General Information

Please click here for our Year 4 Facebook page

In Year 4, children are still expected to read every school day and practise their spellings and times tables daily. The expectation is that children will know all of their times tables by the end of Year 4. We appreciate your support with this.

We are excited to begin swimming again every Friday and our indoor PE sessions will be on Tuesdays. It’s useful for children to have their PE kits in school every day and take them home at the end of each half term.

If you have any concerns, please do speak to your child’s class teacher or any of our team. We look forward to our year together.
