Weekly Information

Our class pages have been adapted to support you through this time of school-closure. The content for English and Maths will be updated daily and the grids below will be updated weekly with a mixture of tasks for your children to have a go at.

We have tried to make sure there is a balance of fun and keeping in touch activities with some meaningful learning activities alongside.

Reading: Children should read for thirty minutes every day. This might involve reading on their own, reading with an adult, listening to stories or discussing what they have read. Children should read a range of fiction and non-fiction.

Literacy:

Secret Lake Wordsearch

Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar: Children have their Read Write Inc. spelling work books and can access their Spelling Shed accounts to practise their spellings. They can access Espresso online and use a username and password to access all areas. The children have been shown some of the most useful sections in school over the course of the day. https://www.discoveryeducation.co.uk/what-we-offer/discovery-education-espresso Username: student10836 Password: school.

Maths: Each day the White Rose Maths Hub will be publishing daily videos and work sheets (with answers) which the school have paid for so that all parents can access. The resources are excellent and we regularly use them in school so the children are very familiar with the content and style. The video can be found by following the link below (there is one for four days of the week) and then the questions and answers will be shared on this website daily.

For those of you that would like to supplement this provision with other resources, the following are child-friendly and that we would recommend.

  • Year 3/4 Maths Targeted Practice Workbook (Collins KS2 Practice)
  • Year 3/4 English Targeted Practice Workbook (Collins KS2 Practice)
  • Maths practice book for ages 7-8 (Year 3) ages 8-9 (Year 4).
  • English practice book for ages 7-8 (Year 3) ages 8-9 (Year 4)

We are really keen to keep the communication between home and school as open as it can be. If your child does anything that they are really proud of please email it to their year group email e.g. year4@kingsleighprimary.co.uk and we will share work on the blog in the usual way.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to do the best that we can to support our children and community through this unprecedented time.
