Last week year 4 made their teachers really proud with their incredibly hard work. We have had shadow puppet theatres, hieroglyphics messages to decode and some fantastic writing.
This week Mrs Reade set an English challenge that built up on their ideas from the trailer ‘Pete’s Dragon’ throughout the week. The children have completed some amazing character descriptions, setting descriptions and have even created their own mythical creatures. They have used their knowledge of amazing adjectives, powerful verbs and our different sentence types to create some really impressive work.
For their humanities challenge we challenged the children to create a message in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics for us to decode. We were definitely tested on our hieroglyphics knowledge!
Year 4 have also been working so hard on their maths. Using their knowledge of decimals and fractions they have completed so much work over the week. It was also fantastic to see so many of them on TTRS battling against year 3 in the battle of the bands. Well done Year 4 on your victory!
Above all it has been wonderful to see how much Year 4 have been enjoying their creative activities. There are some master bakers, impressive artists and keen gardeners and it is great to see them all having fun. Keep up the amazing work Year 4. We could not be any prouder as teachers of the brilliant things that you are doing. We look forward to seeing what you get up to after Easter.
As a year team we would like to say a huge thank you to all parents and carers who are supporting you in your home learning. There are so many fantastic and creative things going on within our year and we know this is keeping you all smiling.
Have a great Easter and take care,
The Year 4 team.
