In Geography this half term, Year 3 have been learning about our world. We used Atlases to locate countries that we knew and didn’t know and then found the Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere and Equator. Next, we learnt that the world was split up into Continents and labelled a world map.
As the weeks have progressed, we have focused on describing the key features of the South West of England. We looked at the population, climate, physical features and who our neighbouring counties are. Using this information we created our own fact files.
Following on from this, we then looked at the four countries that we have been studying as part of our Tribal Tales theme. The children had the freedom to choose a country to study, researched key information and them created their own fact files. They really enjoyed this and were really pleased with their work.
Over the coming weeks, the children are going to give their own views and opinions about the various locations and think about where they would choose to live!
