Year 1 have been completing some lovely art challenges both at home and at school this half term.
As part of their learning at school, the Year 1 children learnt some facts about polar bears and their habitats. They then looked at some photos of the northern lights in Canada and made silhouette pictures using chalk.
Following on from their Room on the Broom work, the school-based children created scary, flying dragons. We think they are also quite dazzling dragons!
Linked to our Up, Up and Away topic, our home learners have used artistic tools to design things that fly. Here is a fabulous kite design from one of our workers.
This home learner researched hot air balloons and how they work. She then created this beautiful painting of a hot air balloon.
One challenge set to the children during our The Snail and the Whale week was to create their very own snail. This wonderful home learner used play dough to create his snail.
This home learner used paper to make his snazzy snail.
We are very proud of all of our artists both in school and at home and the impressive work that they have produced. Perhaps you can find an inspiring idea from their work?
