This week saw Remembrance Day on the 11th November. All the children took a minutes silence to remember all those who gave their lives in wars and conflicts around the globe.

As part of their project learning about World War 2, Year 6 usaed their art skills to create clay poppies which are now displayed at the entrance of our school.

They began by cutting out petals from clay and joined them together creating the shape of this familiar flower. The poppies were taken and fired in a kiln.

When they were returned to school, the children painted the poppies red.

The clay creations were attached to wires and arranged in a display, inspired by that seen at the Tower of London.

We are so proud of our Year 6 pupils and the amazing display they have produced. It really does look beautiful and is a wonderful memorial.
