Another excellent week in Reception. Thank you for sharing all the fabulous learning that is happening at home.
This week we continued to focus on our Minibeast Topic. The understanding of the World challenge was to create either a house or feeder for the Minibeasts in your garden or local area. These children accepted the challenge:
Oscar made a bird feeder whilst Ella made a bug hotel.
Henry and Bailey both made butterfly feeders.
The teachers have also been very impressed with the reading you’ve been doing at home. We said how important it was to continue to do and many of you have demonstrated that.
Jenson & Alexis both enjoyed playing on Phonics Play on the internet.
Whilst these children accepted Mrs Crane’s challenge to find the craziest place to read. Here is Harry, Lexi & Jenson.
Can you find an even crazier place?
Children have also challenged themselves to do some amazing writing this week. The writing challenge was to make up some clues about a minibeast and then ask someone else to guess what they had written. Here are some of the ones sent in- can you guess? The children are: Leah, Jack, Bella, James, Anais & Yasmine.
Other amazing writing that came in was from Olivia, Elijah & Luca.
Lastly we’ve had so many emails about our Maths Challenge which is really excellent thank you! So many of you accepted Miss Willis’s challenge to share into 3 and 4 groups, remembering to be fair and share equally every time.
From the top we have Bobby, Bella, Berti, Harley, Malika, Alexis, Ella, Marley & Gloria.
Well done to all the children who have tried really hard with their learning this week. Sorry we can’t include everyone who has sent something in.
Continue to stay safe and we look forward to you completing the challenges next week!
