Year 3 have totally embraced learning their new instrument this term- the recorder!
They began by learning how to hold their recorder correctly, thinking carefully about the positioning of their hands, body and mouth. Then it was time to learn the first note – b. The children worked hard to make sure they blew gently into the recorder to produce a nice, clear sound. By the end of the first lesson, everyone was able to play a simple tune and ‘Glory B’ was ringing through the corridors!
During our second lesson, we recapped our learning and went on to learn a new note – a. It was great to see everyone playing a tune with 2 notes after just a short time learning a brand new instrument. We can not wait to see how everyone progresses this term and look forward to some exciting learning experiences with the recorder.
