This week in Year 5, we have had dedicated an entire day to all things water! We had a visit from Trisha from Waterwise (a not-for-profit company focused on reducing water waste in the UK). Trisha told us all about the wonderful ways that we can reduce our water use and spoke to us all about how our water from rivers is cleaned and filtered!
We created collages of different rivers and parts of the water cycle. We also learnt the ‘journey of a river’, its different sections (source, mouth, waterfall and channel to name a few) and even worked to define these terms!
Finally, we had the opportunity to put our knowledge into action and build our own miniature version of the water cycle. It was messy, fun and explorative!
