In Year 5, the children have been working hard on their times tables since coming back to school after lockdown. They have made flashcards to practise the ones they find tricky.
They have learnt that they can derive facts from times tables facts they already know.
They have drawn arrays to help them to visualise and understand what the times table means.
They have played games to practise their times tables.
Times tables are vitally important to the children’s maths learning – please support and encourage your child to practise their times tables as often as possible, using TTRS or one of the other strategies suggested above.
