Last half term, we learnt everything there is to know about Africa.
In our Art lessons, we started our topic by learning about colour theory. The children learnt how to make secondary and tertiary colours by mixing primary colours, and learnt to add shade by adding black and white.
Next, we practised drawing facial features before composing our own portrait. After researching traditional African jewellery we then added these to our portraits before painting them in bold, bright colours.
Finally, we used stamps to print our own animal print background – before combining it all together. What do you think of our finished pieces?
