With the new term and the sunshine, comes a new Science topic in Year 2. We are learning all about plants!
The children started the new topic with a pleasant stroll around the school – recording all the different plants we have here. We discussed the differences between deciduous and evergreen trees and talked about how the trees start off as tiny seedlings before growing into big trees over many, many years.
The children then looked at the different flowers they could find and we discussed what the different parts are for. We shared all our different experiences of plants – the places we’ve been and what plant life we’ve seen there.
Once we returned to class, the children seperated daffodils into all the different parts and labelled which part was for which.
