Parental Support

Parent & Carer Support

We value the strong partnership between school and home. Supporting parents and carers helps students feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Below is information about the support available to families in our school community.

Supporting Your Child’s Learning

Parents and carers play a vital role in student success. You can support learning by:

  • Encouraging regular attendance and punctuality

  • Creating a consistent routine for homework such as reading, spellings and maths

  • Talking with your child about their learning and school day

  • Reading school communications and newsletters

  • Attending parent–teacher meetings and school events

If your child is experiencing difficulties with learning, behaviour, or engagement, please contact their teacher or year leader early so we can work together.

Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

Student wellbeing is a priority. Support may include:

  • Wellbeing staff

  • Pastoral care or year-level support teams

  • ELSA support

  • Support for transitions (starting school, moving year levels, or changing schools)

Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the school if they have concerns about their child’s emotional or social wellbeing.

Communication With the School

Open communication helps us support students effectively. Parents and carers can:

  • Contact teachers via the school office or at the start and end of each school day

  • Book appointments to discuss concerns or progress

  • Use the school’s communication platforms

  • Raise questions or feedback respectfully and collaboratively

Additional Support and Referrals

When needed, the school may help families connect with:

  • External wellbeing or counselling services

  • Learning support services

  • Community organisations

  • Health or youth support agencies

Any referrals are made with care, confidentiality, and in consultation with parents and carers.

Parent Involvement and Community

We encourage parents and carers to be involved in school life through:

  • Volunteering (where appropriate)

  • Information sessions or workshops

  • School events and activities

Your involvement strengthens our school community.
